Assuming that the Mr. Smith is right about the key skills needed to become a successful CIO, where do you think you are at? What skills have you started to develop? What areas do you need to work on?

I totally agree with Greg in terms of knowing more about new technologies and how they work versus the bigger business aspect. I can only assume that if we keep up with the current technologies, the business aspect is going to come to us from all the work we do in the future. Therefore, in a few years or so, we will have about an equal level of knowledge of both sides.
